The pair of dishes is potted with shallow rounded sides rising from a low tapered foot to a slightly everted rim, the interior deftly painted with a soaring five-clawed dragon and a descending phoenix raising its head all amidst swirling clouds. The sides painted prosperous beasts including horse, tiger, elephant, lion, qilin, etc., chasing after one and another, all within a double-lined border repeated at around the rim, the exterior with a striding dragon and phoenix divided by cloud wisps all between double-lined borders, the subtly convex base with a six-character Wanli reign mark within a double-circle.
